John Perrin

John Stephenson Perrin ("Jack")] (February 4, 1898 - June 24, 1969) was an utility player in Major League Baseball who played briefly for the Boston Red Sox during the 1921 season. Listed at 5' 9" 160 lb., Perrin batted left-handed and threw right-handed. A native of Escanaba, Michigan, he attended University of Michigan. He was a starting halfback on Michigan's undefeated 1918 football team that has been recognized as the national champion.

A two-sport star at Michigan, Perrin appeared in four games with the 1921 Red Sox as a backup for regular right fielder Shano Collins. He went 3-for-13 (.231) with three runs and one RBI without extrabases.

Following his baseball career, Perrin played as a fullback/quarterback for the Hartford Blues of the National Football League.

Perrin died at the age of 71 in Detroit, Michigan.
